Black Tied - or: Prom 2012.

Bună seara!

Sorry for my lack of posts lately. Work has been really stressful & I had to deal with some bad news concerning some of my friends which kept me quite occupied.
On Saturday I went to this year's senior prom. Some of my friends graduated and I thought I could play dress up and join them celebrating. ;-)
I can't believe it has already been a year since my own prom.
I'll stop rambling now. Enjoy the pictures!

Love,
Lea.

P.S. I FREAKING LOVE MAC's Eye Shadow in "Black Tied".

Stone Rollin'

"To each his own & God for all!"*
Alo everybody!

I know I'm a little late posting this but I had an awful  lot of work on my hands. It looks like I'll be moving to Jena this August for university and I CANNOT FREAKING WAIT! I haven't been to the city before but my mom, Charlotte and me will go on a trip, visit the university and take a look around the city in about two weeks (we still have to book everything...). I would have preferred a bigger city but Jena seems to be the only university offering the classes I want to attend - PLUS it is close to Prague and the costs for living are not THAT high. :-)
As you can imagine I have a lot to do with work, teaching, getting my stuff together, preparing myself for 2 1/2 new languages, getting my driver's license and in between trying to find time to visit my grandaunt in Canada. Let's see how that works out.

Anyways a couple of weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity to go and see Raphael Saadiq - whom I ADORE - live & in concert. It was awesome. :-) I hadn't been to a concert in ages and it was definitely worth it. I love Saadiq and think that his new album is by far his best. The location (an old church) was bloody amazing! I was there with two friends and we just had a great time. Enjoy the pictures plus listen to some good music below - cause good ol' Raphael knows:

>> Listen, you don't call her fat but that girl is stacked
Now come on, she's got my mind
Everythin' is wide, she walk with much pride
Come on, she's got my mind

Top chef and cook with grandma's looks
Now come on, she's got my mind
There was no way to prepare, nothin' I could I see
All I saw was a woman walkin' up to me <<

 ;-)

Love & Peace to all!
Yours,
Lea.

I might do an entry on this...

Live fast, die young. Bad girls do it well.

My chain hits my chest
When I'm bangin' on the radio

Get back, get down

Pull me closer if you think you can hang

Don't go screaming if I blow you with a bang"

Alo lovelies :)

I hope you like my Make Up. I was bored and thought I post some pictures of it [Scroll down if you want to know what products I used]. Plus I thought they'd quite fit into the theme of this post...

Now to the important stuff ;)
M.I.A. finally released her new single & the video for "Bad Girls". YES! Everyone who knows me, knows that I love me some M.I.A.

I ADORE the video! Putting females in that clothes is more than provocative, so is the whole video in combination with the song and location its shot in. I know some peep won't get it anyways -.-
She is the definition of a true BO$$! Plus: Doing your nails on top of a BMW driving on two f*cking wheels? I salute her!

This is hands down the most original and best video I've seen in A LONG TIME!

I have never seen any artist adopt the Islamic culture like that.
To quote Necole Bitchie:
"Her crew of  animal-printed-burka-wearing boss chicks take control of a desert racetrack, and show the boys how to really ride out in a beamer on two wheels." [Read her article by clicking here]

The video was directed by Romain Gavras and filmed in Morocco. "Bad Girls" is from her forth album set to drop this summer. You should def go get it... I know I will.

Yours, Lea.

Collective Haul ladies & gents!

Alo dolls!

I'm sorry, I know I've been M.I.A. for a while now... I've been super busy since my mom is at my aunt's. Besides that I'm still trying to figure out what to study... The list of programmes I'm interested in only seems to get longer & longer. Anyways, me and my dad started doing a "Study Matrix" with Pros & Cons of each subject & future job. Let's see how this works out.

I've been thinking about a post & thought I'd just do a "collective-haul-sort-of-thing". NO - I didn't buy all that stuff at once... I've been picking up the following goodies for a couple of months or so. : )

I really wanna do outfit posts but it's hard to find someone willing to take pictures of my outfit each day. It's way easier for me to take a picture of my F.O.T.D. or other stuff. However, I hope that will change once my mom gets back. Haha!

I'll stop rambling now... Enjoy!

Yours truly, Lea

June Favs

Alo!

Better late than never I guess...
Thought I'd share some of my "June Favs" with y'all. Enjoy! :-)

Yours, Lea

Hair:

1.) Dove Repair Therapy Hitzeschutz Aktives Schutz-Spray, Regenerierende Haarkur (Dove Damage Therapy Heat Defence Heat Activated Protect + Shine Mist, Treatment Mask)
Got this new Dove heat defence line & I have to say it's amazing! Both, mask & mist... I think they also have shampoo & regular conditioner but I'm happy with these two as well. :-)

2.) Klier Leave-In Spray Volume, Shampoo Volume (Don't know whether available outside Germany)
Got this shampoo & kind of "leave-in-conditioner-spray" from my hairdresser. It's basically for volume, really does its job plus you only need a small amount of product which means you'll be able to use it for quite some time.

3.) Gliss Kur Hair Repair Oil Nutritive Haarspitzenfluid Anti-Spliss. (Don't know whether this is available outside Germany either...)
Now this is some hair serum you put in your ends. I cannot say how much I love this! I've always had problems with split hair ends & I just don't have 'em no more! AWESOME!

4.) Blonde Highlights.
My new hair color :-) Well actually it's just some blonde highlights. They look natural & fun. (Somhow only my Macbook was able to make them visible... not my Nikon :-/)

Face:

5.) Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Tägliches Waschgel (Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash)
I usually use Garnier when it comes to my face but I recently fell in love with Neutrogena. It's not only doing its job but also smelling delicious! No pimples for me no more. ;-)

Make-Up:

6.) L'oréal Studio Secrets Professional Anti-Shine Mattifying Primer, L'oréal Perfect Match Peach Blush For Medium Skin Tones (Sunset Brown 240), L'oréal Color Indefectible Velvet Powder 24h Hold (Endless Chocolat 012)
My new & beloved L'oréal goodies! I definitely found my favorite blush ever... It's almost a bronzer. The eyeshadow really does what the ads promise: It stays on forever without smearing. The primer is great for oily skin. Just use 3 little drops & put them on your forehead, nose & chin. Done.

Music:

7.) Beyoncé - 4, 4 Deluxe Edition
Being known as an official Beyoncé-Stan this had to be in my June favorites! Her new album "4" - of course the regular Edition AND the Deluxe Edition. I couldn't wait for this album to be released on June 24th [in Germany... 4 days before America! HA! ;-)] Been listening to this ever since then. I love ALL tracks. In my opinion it's one of her best albums (even though all are pretty much GENIUS!) just because it's raw & bold! LOVE IT! Everybody go buy! --> Fav tracks: I Care + I Was Here.

Books:

8.) Siri Hustvedt: The Summer Without Men, Sue Monk Kidd: The Dance Of The Dissident Daughter
First of all: People that know me, know that "The Dance Of The Dissident Daughter" is not only this year's "June Fav" for me.  I read it several times & it really helped me A LOT. I just happened to read it again this month because I felt the need for it & I thought this way I could share it with you guys. It answered a lot of questions I needed answers for. This book changed my life & I really urge every woman to read it! As for "The Summer Without Men": I just bought it recently & I absolutely love it! Another book every woman should read at least once in her life. Actually you should read all of Siri Hustvedt's & Sue Monk Kidd's books/works. They are both GENIUS!
